Sometimes the brief is straightforward — provide tree planting details for a school development. But beneath the surface, a more layered story takes root.
At Bidborough Primary School, KJCF Landscape was appointed to develop a soft landscape proposal aligned with planning, biodiversity goals, and real-world logistics.
Fourteen native trees were proposed — not arbitrarily, but through careful spatial negotiation, ecological insight, and awareness of the day-to-day rhythms of a school setting.
Working to a tight deadline, we refined positions, proposed appropriate species, and designed each planting pit with context in mind — accounting for slope, irrigation, protection, and safety. A detailed specification and maintenance manual were issued alongside a clearly annotated drawing, ensuring the proposal could move seamlessly from design into implementation.
The project exemplified calm professionalism: direct communication, quick turnaround, and ecological integrity rooted in real-world practicalities.
